Six Months

My dear daughter is six months old.
I know.
I'm just as shocked as you are.
How can six months have gone by already????
Well somehow, the months have flown by without our permission.
I love that sweet squishy baby of mine.

Here is a little bit about my big six month old:

  • She still adores her brothers. Sometimes she gets annoyed and mad when they don't give her space, but usually she loves the attention. More times than not, I'll start to get after the boys for something they've done to her, but stop when I realize she thinks it's hilarious. Especially Jaxen. Madee finds everything Jaxen does to be hysterical.
  • She is so ticklish.
  • She has the worst stranger anxiety of any of my children. It takes her a while to warm up to people.
  • She doesn't spit up very often anymore, but when she does, she spits it out of her mouth. Spits it everywhere. It's awesome.
  • She is a good sleeper.... if she's in my bed and nursing. Otherwise, there's room for improvement.
  • She's all over the place. Neither of my boys were so mobile this early. She does an awesome army crawl/swimming thing all over the house. She's fast and determined. If I leave the room, she'll follow me.
  • She is blond and has pretty blue-green eyes.
  • Madee has no teeth. I realize this is not uncommon for her age, but both my boys had teeth by four months, so I'm surprised none of those razor sharp chompers have popped through her gums yet.
  • She loves to nurse (as long as there is nothing more interesting going on). This makes me glad she has no teeth yet....
  • We haven't started her on solids yet. She got her first cold and I decided to wait for her to be able to breath properly.
  • She would like to be with her Mom every second of the day. Nobody compares. Even though Dad is great, and he's funny, Mom wins.
  • She weighs 15 lbs 14 ounces and is 26 inches long.
  • She doesn't suck on her thumb as much anymore, but she still loves to suck on her blanket.
  • She babbles all day long. Right now her word of choice is "DaDa.." It makes the husband feel important.
  • She's cute no matter what, but when she smiles it completely lights up her face.

Rocket to the Moon!

The other day we got two big boxes of diapers from Amazon. They came together in one large box. When it showed up my boys were eccstatic. They immediately climbed in and Tyler started making plans.... While Jax was taking a nap, I helped him turn the box into the rocket ship he had envisioned.

He planned the whole thing in his mind, right down to the paper cup blasters in the back.
Photobucket
That little man is creative and analytical and silly.
He surprises me every day.

The funny thing is, Jaxen has played in the rocket ship more than Tyler.
I think Tyler just enjoyed creating it.

California 2011 Part Two

Photobucket
While we were in San Diego, we stayed at the Bahia resort on Mission Bay.
It was right on the beach. It was perfect.
Photobucket
This was our rental car.
Tim was pretty happy with it.

Right after I took this (really cute) picture, Jaxen walked into the water and fell....
Photobucket
He didn't appreciate falling in the water. I'm just glad I was right there to pull him out.

The resort was so pretty at night.
They have ferry rides during the summer months.
Photobucket
There were a ton of birds. One morning, I took the boys outside to eat some breakfast and we made a few new friends.
Photobucket
We went to the San Diego zoo. . .

The boys tuckered out pretty fast.
The zoo is gigantic and they weren't feeling 100%

We spent a couple of days just playing on the beach. It was bliss to lie in the sun while it was snowing back home. I loved that we came home with sunburned cheeks.

There was a playground right on the beach.

The resort had sea lions. I guess this was the only picture I got...
Photobucket
We went swimming at the pool.
Photobucket
Tyler (obviously) felt like crap and was not interested in swimming that day.
Photobucket
The boys slept like champs every single night.

Photobucket
I wasn't kidding when I said we were all sick....
And not just a little bit sick.
We took two trips to Urgent Care while we were on vacation.
We spent a ridiculous amount of money on medical care and antibiotics.
BUT... we still had fun.

Photobucket
We went to Sea World.
Tyler and I fed dolphins.

After Shamu's show, Tyler developed a huge affection for Killer Whales.
He claimed he wanted to be a whale trainer for months.
Photobucket
The sea lion show was really funny. If you ever go to Sea World, I highly recommend it.
